Awoke to a magnificent sunny day! Narry a cloud all day! We drove up to Ellsworth, entry point for Acadia National Park. We decided to go into Bar Harbor and the park tomorrow. So today we drove up to Jonesport and Beals Island. 24 years ago our family rented a little house up there for a week's vacation (remember, Janet and Jake?). Its just a little fishing village on Frenchman's Bay. The place hasn't changed a bit. No tourists here to ruin a traditional Mainer's way of life - lobstering.
We went over to Schoodic Point, an out of the way part of the national park. We've been there several times over the years. It's known for it rocky shoreline which causes great crashing and thrashing of waves as they crash into deep crevasses in the rock. Well, it was boring today - the sea was calm and placid as can be!
For lunch we stopped at "Joshy's" and had our first Lobster roll......a "gotta have" when you're on the Maine coast! For dinner tonight we met up with Sarah N., one of Janet's close friends and college roommate who lives in Blue Hill. We had a wonderful seafood dinner at this quirky little place called "Ruth and Wimpy's". So we had lobster twice today!

Yes, I remember the house in Jonesport well! The pic with the flowers in the foreground and the ocean and mtns is beautiful!!! So glad you were able to get together with Sarah!
